Review: Cowboy to the Rescue by A. J. Pine

All designer Ivy Serrano wants is a fresh start. But instead, her Meadow Valley homecoming includes an electrical fire, a trashed custom dress, and a very handsome fireman who knows how to push all her buttons. New to small-town living, Carter is determined to prove himself, both at the station and at the fledgling dude ranch where he volunteers. I was happy to see that Pine had a new series out. Her new Meadow Valley series starts out with the quick, fun novella.

Right away you get a feel for both Ivy and Carter. Right away you understand why Ivy might not be too happy to get involved with a firefighter after losing her brother. It's totally understandable. It's also understandable that the heart wants who the heart wants. Sometimes it makes your choices so much harder.

Whereas Carter wants a new start and doesn't want to invest too much in a relationship. Both have their reasons for not going after what they each want. Of course, being friends doesn't really help when there is an attraction between two people.

These two start spending time together and feels build. Well, duh!

I really enjoyed this novella. It's a quick read that gives you a glimpse of what's to come in the series while giving you a fun romance. Of course, because it's a novella the plot is light and them falling in love seems to happen quickly. These facts don't take away from the story but do kinda leave you wanting more.
