Who needs mistletoe?

Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that—but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas . . .

I have to admit that it was kinda weird to be reading this holiday/winter story when it was almost 90 degrees out. That's the one thing I can never get over about reviewing...reading holiday books in September and October.

But a reviewer has to do it's job!

If you follow me then you know how much I love reading Jill Shalvis. She is one of my favorite authors. Her stories always make me laugh and I can really picture them. Her characters would make a great Hallmark TV show. Hint...hint, Hallmark!

Like they follow me. Ha!

Anyway, like I was saying before I got sidetracked, I just love her book, story lines and characters. She almost always hit's it out of the park for me. No ones perfect.

I was really looking forward to Hot Winter Nights. Lucas was a character I really liked and I wanted his story. I also liked Molly so that made for a good book. I don't always like the heroines but with this one all the characters called to me.

Molly's brother Joe is a favorite of mine so I wanted to see what his best friend and sister would do. I'm happy to say their story is so good. I truly loved the bad Santa angle the author went with. The poor elves not getting their money which means Molly needs to find out why. Of course that drags Lucas into it because both Joe and Archer know she's going to take the case even if they say don't.

What happens while talking said case cracks me up. Oh yeah in the end there is danger but until then...

I love how as much as Lucas and Molly try not to start anything personal between them they just can't help it. Molly tells Joe about her past and even shares her father with him. I love Molly's and Joe's dad. You can't help but loving him.

In the end everything worked out but until then I had fun with the ride. I truly can't wait for what's coming next!

If you've read Hot Winter Nights or anything else by Jill Shalvis I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading. ♡
