Meet cute...

Run for the hills—temporarily. That’s Colbie Albright’s plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie’s so over it that she’s under it. She’s also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she’s pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won’t be a stranger for long.

Make merry...

Spence’s commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn’t have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot—chemistry he’s got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself... just because she’s gorgeous and a great listener…just because she “gets” Spencer immediately doesn’t mean he won’t be able to let Colbie go. Does it?

…and hope for a miracle.

Now the clock’s ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime

I use to be one of those people that would not read a holiday story until the day after Thanksgiving. In fact, I would have the book planned and I'd spend the day decorating the house then when it was time for me to relax I'd pull that special (first to be picked) holiday book out and spend the evening reading with the lights of the Christmas tree to keep my company.

I held firm to that tradition...or at least I did until I started a blog.

How could I not read the Christmas stories early and let you know what I thought of them? I couldn't! So I now start reading them in late August through October. It's the way it is and I've gotten used to it. I still keep a few to read after Thanksgiving or sometimes I'll reread a favorite. I always have the Hallmark channel to give me those warm, romantic holiday feelings.

Chasing Christmas Eve is the latest in Shalvis' Heartbreaker Bay series. It's with one of my favorite heroes, Spencer. What can I say, I love a hot geek. Not to worry I also like a bad boy that's why Joe is also one of my favorites.

A girl can never have enough favorites.

Since Spencer is one of my favorites I wasn't sure I would like the heroine that would be his love interest. I mean...he is kinda special. If you've been reading the series you know what I mean if you haven't...WHY AREN'T YOU???? Funny part is that I right away liked Colbie and thought she was perfect for him.

Both come from slightly messed up families. Not horrible, just tough to deal with, are smart and successful in their own right. And to be honest both are likable. I very much enjoyed their story and kept wanting them to figure out and fight for their love.

But what good would a romance story be if everything was wrapped up that quickly? Right, boring! So it might have taken them some time to figure it all out but we know they do. The fun is how they do it.

Shalvis has a wonderful way of making you laugh with the characters. Her stories are always engaging and nicely written. Believe me when I say this that her holiday books always uses to be read on Thanksgiving weekend. She is one of those authors (holiday stories) that I read right away, believe me when I say that those weekends could be tiring.

Chasing Christmas Eve fits perfect in the Heartbreaker series and I'm sure you'll love it as well as the others.

If you've read Chasing Christmas Eve or any other book by Jill Shalvis I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
