Olivia Davenport has finally gotten her life back together. She's left her painful past behind, started over in a new town, and become Harmony Harbor's most sought-after event planner. But her past catches up to her when Olivia learns that she's now guardian of her ex's young daughter. With her world spinning, Olivia must reconcile her old life with her new one. And she doesn't have time for her new next door neighbor, no matter how handsome he is.

Olivia may act like she's got everything under control, but Dr. Finn Gallagher knows a person in over her head when he sees one. He'd really like to be the shoulder she leans on, but Olivia makes it clear she doesn't want his help. Since he's returned to town, his waiting room has been full of single women feigning illness. Yet the one woman he's interested in is avoiding him. But with a little help from some matchmaking widows and a precocious little girl, Finn might just win Olivia over.

BONUS: The eBook edition includes a complete novel from BookShots Flames, THE MCCULLAGH INN IN MAINE by Jen McLaughlin!

Oh boy, I really struggled with this one. Not in a bad way, okay, sometimes in a bad way. But if you follow me you know I like that about the books I read. Life isn't all sunny days. We make mistakes, sometimes over and over again.

Which for me was the case with Finn Gallagher. Yes, at times he really only had Olivia's best interests at heart. But more often then not I found him to be a little high and mighty with a bash of, I can fix your life better then you can complex.

Now this didn't mean I didn't like him, because often in the book I did. But I will say he's my least favorite hero. At times...I felt no warmth from him. Shocking I know, I'm usually always for the hero and against the heroine.

Nope, not this time.

Of course the same things I didn't like about him are also the things that made this a very interesting story. You couldn't help wanting to know what was going to happen next.

I really enjoyed Olivia. She was just so...sad! You couldn't help feeling sorry for her and want to comfort her. At times I wondered how those around her didn't notice she was falling apart. I wanted to yell at them to LOOK AT HER!

Again, all of it made for a good book.

Not only do you learn about about Finn and Olivia, you get to solve a little more about what's going in the manor. Tons of humorous parts with the brothers and the little girls. You won't be able to read it with a straight face. And lots of grandma issues too. All I've mentioned makes for a great, heartwarming story that will have you crying one minute, and spiting out your drink with laughter then next.

As always I can't wait for the next story in the series. If you've read Primrose Lane or any other book by Debbie Mason I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡

What are the top 5 things you do when you start a new series?

I was going to say I did this just last year when coming up with my Harmony Harbor series, and then realized it was two years ago! But whether it’s two years ago or a year from now, the 5 things I do remain the same.

1)I look at what elements readers liked about the last series and think of ways to incorporate them into the new series, while at the same time making it fresh and original.

2)Then I pick a state that I’ve either been dying to visit or one that I’ve visited and fell in love with.

3) Once I settle on a state, I narrow my search to small towns and begin compiling a file with the history of an area that most appeals to me, photos, and fun facts. Then I sift through all of that information for something that will make my imaginary town special.

4) From there, I create the family who settled the town and come up with their backstories—their goals, motivations, and conflicts. This is when the idea for the first book in the series begins to take shape.

5) The last thing I do is build a community with characters who will reoccur in the series, including the businesses they own or jobs they hold, their connection to the town’s first family, and special events that occur throughout the year. And then I draw a map of my town and include the photos from my file.
