Book Club Thursday: Remember When

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!

Today we are doing...

This month I'd like to talk about time...

time to read...time to review...time to enjoy

time to read

It seems I never have enough time! One of my favorite pastimes is reading. I do it everyday often for hours at a time. Sometimes if the book is good I've been known to keep reading it till it's finished no matter what time it is.

I might have more time to read if I also wasn't sure a TV whore. I love it. Usually I have it going while I read. Most of the time that's not a problem. I can listen and read at the same time. But every once in a while the show demands my attention and the book is put aside.

Those are really bad times. One hour long show can put me at 20-80 pages behind on my book, depending on how good it is. There is a flip side to that, books I'm not into I look for a excuse not to read. It doesn't happened often to me, but it can.

Some day I will find enough time to read all the books that I want to!

time to review

Of course not having enough time to read means I also don't have enough books to review, or I'm not ready to review on time. Luckily I haven't run into a issue where I couldn't finish the book in time. I always do, even if all I do is read.

I've tried to agree to review less but then I see someone I want to try or a favorite I just have to review. Plus there is the fact that I'm always afraid that if I don't have enough reviews my followers will find greener pastures.

No one wants to be left behind.

time to enjoy

I'd love to have more time just to enjoy what I'm reading. I know it sounds like I don't like the books I read but if you follow me you know that's not true. I do love so many of the books that I read.

Part of my issue is that I have a problem. That problem is that I'm addicted to reading and because of that I can't stop. One book after another, I don't take time to savor. Not everything can be blamed on my addiction, some of it has to do with blogging, it's a numbers game. How can I get the people to follow me, why do so many people follow them?

Worrying about losing followers takes some of the enjoyment out of reading, reviewing, blogging.

remembering when

I can't help but remember that time that all I did was read for myself. No rushing, no debating on how to write a bad review and not hurt anyone's feeling. Just for the pleasure of it!

Saying all that, I'd never give up blogging. I love it and the people I've met through it. My followers are strong and loyal, hugs to them all! I might not have the time I used to but I have something more.

It's nice to remember the past, but it's better to look toward the future...

    1. I really need it. Makes it hard somethings to finish things but it also sometimes keeps me focused. Weird, I know!

  2. Fun post today! Time is a friend and enemy at the same time. And I agree its hard to find the time to read and savor something for yourself even though you like blogging too.
