HIS COWBOY HEART
Montana Men #6
Jennifer Ryan
Releasing Feb 21, 2017

Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie has longed for Ford. One glimpse confirms it: the sexy, dangerous-looking cowboy left a hole in her heart that nothing else can fill. Yet the battle scars she bears—inside and out—won’t let her trust anyone enough to get close.

Ford wants to bring Jamie back to the life they dreamed of building. But locked somewhere in her memories is a dark truth that threatens her safety. It’s a battle Ford won’t let her fight alone, not when he’s determined to keep her by his side, now and always…

His Cowboy Heart is a very hard book to read for many reasons. It's a mix and neglect from a parent, and PTSD. We also have to throw in lost love, not from death, but no easier to lose. As always, Ryan writes such emotionally intense stories. She writes some of the best hero's. They are always there for the heroine, ready to protect them and cherish them. You won't be able to read a story by her and not feel your heart sigh.

Your heart will break for Jamie. She's not only a hero, she's also a mentally abused child. She went from the frying pan into the pot. From abuse to war. She really needed someone there for her. That's someone is Ford. You won't be able to not love Ford for the way he takes care of her. She needs someone like Ford to help her assimilate to being home after being overseas.

Ford is the perfect man. Okay, no ones totally perfect, but he's close. Not only does he love her, it's just in his make-up to help someone. Of course that same make-up is also why she left without him in the first place. He wanted more for her.

Usually in Ryan's stories the mystery is very strong, not so much in His Cowboy Heart. In this one you'll have more of Jamie's emotions and her relationship with the people around her. I really liked that. The story needed to be emotionally driven. It's wasn't easy for the characters or the readers.

As always, a story by Ryan is a wonderful story! I really enjoyed it and can't wait for more.

  3. Oh goodness. That does sound intense and the heroine with the ptsd? You don't see that often. I so need to get caught up on these.
