He can protect anything except his heart

Leese Phelps’s road hasn’t been an easy one, but it’s brought him to the perfect job—working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who’s threatening her.

What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who’d believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese’s ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honor. He’s the last person she expects to trust—and the first who’s ever made her feel safe. And he’s the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough…

There are certain authors that when I pick up their books I just immediately fall into the story. No rough starts, no getting bored and wishing the book was over. Just a sweet ride cover to cover.

For me Lori Foster is one of those authors. I always seem to love her books and characters. They call to my heart!

Now saying that you might wonder why I'm slightly behind on her, yeah I know without me telling you that I was behind you wouldn't have known, just go with it. It's not because I don't love her books, I think I proved already with what I have written above how much I love her, it's just that I have way too many books to read and not enough time to read them.

If I was caught up on her I would have known that Under Pressure might be the first in the Body Armor series but there are characters from her Ultimate series. My bad. I usually don't like to read out of order and since this is book one...I should know better then to trust a number.

Oh well, I already agreed to review. In the beginning I thought I was missing something, most likely it's because you meet Leese in a prior book. I quickly caught up on him and figured him out.

I really like Leese. There was something about him that touched me right away. I just wanted to know more about him and felt that I wasn't getting the whole picture of him. I really liked his character. Foster is good at writing hero characters that I want to know more about.

Her books are very hero driven. Which works for me.

I also liked Catalina too. Her character is the perfect fit for Leese. I just love typing his name. Cool, isn't it? Their story wasn't always easy but you always knew how much they cared for each other.

I'm very glad I read this and will have to make time to go back and read the books I've missed of hers.

If you've read Under Pressure or any other book Lori Foster I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! 💓
