A Blast From the Past

Welcome back to my "A Blast From the Past" post. Before starting this blog I read so many books that I loved and would like to share with you!

Kiss of Midnight
Midnight Breed #1
Lara Adrian

May 2007

INSATIABLE DESIRE. ENDLESS SEDUCTION. ONE TOUCH IS JUST THE BEGINNING.

He watches her from across the crowded dance club, a sensual black-haired stranger who stirs Gabrielle's deepest fantasies. But nothing about this night—or this man—is what it seems. For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. In that shattering instant she is thrust into a realm she never knew existed—a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and a blood war is set to ignite.

Lucan Thorne despises the violence carried out by his lawless brethren. A vampire himself, Lucan is a Breed warrior, sworn to protect his kind—and the unwitting humans existing alongside them—from the mounting threat of the Rogues. Lucan cannot risk binding himself to a mortal woman, but when Gabrielle is targeted by his enemies, he has no choice but to bring her into the dark underworld he commands.

Here, in the arms of the Breed's formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction, and the darkest pleasures of all . . . .

I can still remember reading Kiss of Midnight back in January 2007. I was lucky to get a early copy and I just loved the whole idea of the series. At that time paranormal's was becoming a big thing.

With so many new authors to pick from (not all were new to romance just wrote paranormal under a different name) it was just a little bit overwhelming. So overwhelming that I found so many good authors and found myself becoming behind on so many of them. I just couldn't keep up.

See how I though that part in about being behind? Yep, I'm way behind on Adrian but I'm hoping that I can start catching up on her. I say that but we all know it will take me a whole lot of time to do that.

But until then, let me talk about the first book in the Midnight Breed series. I really enjoyed Kiss of Midnight. I remember loving Lucan and his pet name for Gabrielle. The story moved quickly and add many characters that you wanted to know about. I also remember just how much I loved the whole idea for the series.

If you haven't yet try this series you really soon. Even though I'm way behind whenever I do read a story in the series I right away fall back into it. I really think you'll enjoy this series. If you haven't yet started it then this is the time to do so. Kiss of Midnight is only 2.99 for the ebk copy.

If you've read Kiss of Midnight or any other book by Lara Adrian I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

Here is book two & three of the series

  1. Loved the series but fell behind when it went hardcover as a lot of my favorite authors have done. You lose momentum when you have to wait an extra year. Two years is a long wait for the paperback.

  2. Oh I need to get back to this series. I read book one then got side tracked while trying to find copies of all of the others (I was a used bookstore only girl back then). Thanks for the reminder!
