A new adventure begins on Harmony…
With its opulent casinos and hotels, the desert city of Illusion Town is totally unique—and will take you on a thrill ride you’ll never forget.

Hannah West isn’t the first woman to wake up in Illusion Town married to a man she barely knows, but she has no memory of the ceremony at all. For that matter, neither does Elias Coppersmith, her new husband. All either can remember is that they were on the run…

With Hannah’s dubious background and shaky para-psych profile, she could have done much worse. The cooly competent mining heir arouses her curiosity—as well as other parts of her mind and body. And even her dust bunny likes him.

But a honeymoon spent retracing their footsteps leads Hannah and Elias into the twisting underground catacombs, where secrets from both their pasts will come to light—and where the energy of their clashing auras will grow hot enough to burn…

Once a year I really look forward to my date with a dust bunny! Yes, I know that sounds silly but what can I say, from the second I read After Dark in 2000 I was both hooked on this series and dust bunnies.

If for no other reason, the books are worth reading for them. Those buggers are so cute!

Illusion Town is book #13 in the Harmony series. I have been loving this whole series. I really do look forward to visiting this world every year.

As a whole I really enjoyed Illusion Town. For me the book is a solid 3 but I think that's based more on the story line, then the characters.

I know, you want to know what I mean by that and here is why. I really loved the story, as always it was well-written. Castle always makes me laugh with her stories. She is wonderful at writing characters interactions. Her characters always work well together, or I should say they usually do.

I will admit that I did like both Hannah West & Elias Coppersmith. There is nothing wrong with them as characters. They are really good in the story. My main issue with the book and why I don't think it's a 4 is because I really didn't feel anything between Hannah & Elias.

The romance in Illusion Town isn't a secondary story, it's more like a step-child. I didn't feel that they had any heat for each other, no romance between them. When I ended the story I didn't feel like they would last. I've never had this happen in a book by her before. I'm sure that with other authors it might have happened once or twice, but never her.

Including all the names she writes under. I never thought I would say this about one of her books but....

Me not feeling like Hannah & Elias didn't work won't stop by from reading her again because like I said, her story was good and I doubt me not thinking the characters work together could happen again.

Fingers crossed!

It's worth reading and you do get to visit with the dust bunny (not sure you really get to know Virgil either) I'm not making this any better am I? Oh well!

If you've read Illusion Town or anything else by Jayne Castle or one of her other names, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

  1. So the romance was kind of an illusion, too. I always look forward to reading her books. I want to read this soon.
