Love Me Forever
Sherring Crossing #2
Johanna Lindsey
December 1996
Avon Books

Still mourning her mother's death, Kimberly Richards is incensed by the determination of her father , the Earl of Amburough, to marry her off as quickly as possible--just to please the jealous lover he plans to wed. And since Kimberly harbors a deep-seated dislike of gold-diggers and the whole distasteful state of affairs, the feisty young heiress already despises the worthy suitor she encounters at Sherring Cross Estate: Lachlan MacGregor, the dashing, newly impoverished Laird of Clan MacGregor.

A tryst with the handsome, haughty Lachlan seems dubious at--especially since the rogue has designs on the married Duchess of Wrothston. But strange turns and outrageous circumstances promise to lead a woefully mismatched pair to a wildly unexpected destination--where a hard, resisting heart can open to the true glories of love.

When we came up with this challenge I knew right away which book I wanted to read or should I say re-read. I've loved, Love Me Forever from the second I started reading it. I couldn't help it. I first fell in love with Lachlan in Man of My Dreams. He only had a small part in it, but it was enough.

Even though I read this so long ago, almost twenty years ago (for the first time) the story always stayed with me. In fact, this isn't the first time that I've reread it ( I know, I mentioned it already). It's more like my third or fourth time.

See, I told you I love it!

There is something about Lachlan, he's very likable right away. You feel bad for him when he and his people fall on bad times. You hope for his sake he finds a very rich heiress to marry. And he does.

Sort of...

Kimberly is rich, but if she marries Lachlan there won't be any money. Kimberly's father really HATES Scottish people.

Not to worry, Lachlan will marry his Kimber (that's what he calls her. Don't you just love it!!!!) with or without any money. I'm sighing here! I do so love him.

There is so much more to the story that I'm not getting into. I just don't have the room to type all that I'd like to about this book. Just trust me, you'll really enjoy it. I will also love Lindsey's Mallory series the best, but Lachlan, I mean Love Me Forever will always have a place in my heart.

If you've read Love Me Forever or any other book by Johanna Lindsey I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting with me and happy reading!

    1. I do too. Sometimes when I can't get into anything I will grab one of my oldies and reread it. Try her Malory's series.
