Adam
Riding Hard #1
Jennifer Ashley
March 10th 2015

Adam Campbell returns to his ranch in Riverbend, Texas, after a movie stunt goes wrong, seriously injuring him. He settles in to heal at his family’s ranch, where his four brothers train stunt horses and do stunt riding for movies, as Adam had before he’d moved to Hollywood.

He’s stunned to find Bailey Farrell working there–Bailey was the shy girl who’d helped Adam graduate from high school so he could run off to be in movies. Except the budding Bailey, with whom Adam had a brief but intense affair, has blossomed into a beautiful woman.

Now Adam is beaten-up, broken-down, and has lost his nerve, since the stunt that injured him killed his best friend. When he’s challenged by his rival to a contest of riding feats, the only person he can turn to is Bailey, who helped him once before.

Will Bailey, who has also come to Riverbend to lick her wounds after a life as a software tech in Austin and a painful divorce, be willing to help him again?

We are now half the way done with our Reading Challenge post. I can't believe how fast the time has gone.

Shockingly fast.

I'm so glad that I picked one of my favorite authors to join me in this half way point.

I love Jennifer Ashley but it took me a second or two to get into this. I think part of the problem was I was waiting for a lion or wolf to show up. I love her shifters!

Unfortunately none did.

At first I had a little issue remembering that. But I soon got into the story and found myself really enjoying it. As with all her books I enjoyed the characters. She does a wonderful job of layer their emotions and making me was to dig for more!

I was a little put off with the fact that his family hired her knowing he had some feelings, good or bad, it didn't matter. Family should stick together. I didn't dwell on that for long. I really enjoyed Adam and Bailey's story. I liked how they interacted together and was able to put their past behind them.

I also enjoyed Adam's family. They are so funny and caring. I can't wait to read more of their stories. I will also love Ashley's shifters and historical's better but I will be adding her contemporaries to my rotation.

If you've read Adam or any of book written by Jennifer Ashley I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting with me and happy reading!

June 30th when we do our WTF! post. You know those moments that make you think...why?

  2. I've not tried any of this series. I do want to. Glad it ended up having good bits even though it took a bit to get into it for ya. I'd be waiting for those shifters too or at least her highlanders! lol

    1. I love her other two series, a lot. This one just took me way to long to get into. It happens sometimes!
