For Samantha Henry, it took a ten-year absence to appreciate the close-knit New England town with an appeal all its own….

After a perfect storm of events leaves Sam high, dry, and jobless, she has to head home to Harvest Cove to regroup. Growing up, she was the town misfit, and a brief high school romance that resulted in heartbreak made her realize she was never going to fit in. But now with the support of her mother and an unexpected circle of allies, Sam starts to wonder if she’s misjudged the town all these years.

Life’s been good to Jake Smith. He transitioned from popular jock to town veterinarian without any trouble. But Sam’s homecoming makes him question his choices. The sharp-tongued beauty was never a good fit for the small community, but he’s never forgotten her—or how good they were together. While she makes it clear she’s not about to repeat the past, Jake’s determined to convince her to give him—and Harvest Cove—a second chance.

When I first bought For the Longest Time it was because I was really into small town romances and I couldn't get enough of them. What I didn't realize at that time was that so many authors were going to be writing them. I soon found myself overwhelmed.

I know, it's not really shocking...

So For the Longest Time (damn song is stuck in my head now that I have to write this review) was piled on top of that forever growing mountain of books I wanted to read.

With us doing this segment for Book Club Thursday, I can now grab some of those books lost in the magical book library. Wouldn't it be cool to have a magical library that held all your books but didn't take up space. I'm not talking about a eReader...

I love paper books!

Any who, back to For the Longest Time. (everyone's day is going to be ruined by that song) As you saw this came out in 2014. That's not really horrible but when you buy as many books as I, they add up.

I've never read Kendra Leigh Castle before so she was a new author to me. I knew she wrote paranormal's but haven't tried them. Also, I know that by the end of this year there are going to be like five books in this series so I thought it was time to try it just in case I liked it.

Which I did. Damn, now I have more books to add to my magical library!!!!

I will say that the story is slow paced. For me, this isn't something that I could have read in a day. There's a lot going on. So much past crap that people needed to deal with. I'm being vague but I want you to read it for yourself.

I did like Sam & Jake so that helped. I wanted to know more about them and see what happens in their future. Right away these two seem to hit it off but remember, they have past history. I love that he's a vet and the kitty's are so cute! Did I mention I also have a black cat? Well I do! Sexy men that take care of kids or animals is a real turn on for me.

I also enjoyed many of the other characters, even the ones that had some growing to do. We all have to remember, we aren't kids anymore. GROW UP! So many of them I want to know their story too.

As I've mentioned, I very much enjoyed the story. I wish it was faster moving (complaining again here) but most of the time I was so lost in the story I didn't notice that fact. I only picked up on it when I stopped reading and noticed that hours had passed and I hadn't gotten very far. I will be trying the next book in the series, Every Little Kiss which is Sam's sisters book!

If you've read For the Longest Time or any other book by Kendra Leigh Castle I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!
