Guest Post/Review & Giveaway: Kiss Me in Christmas by Debbie Mason

Kiss Me in Christmas
Christmas, Colorado #6
By: Debbie Mason
Releasing February 23, 2016

It's always been you

Actress Chloe O'Connor has become America's sweetheart, but back in little Christmas, Colorado, she's still remembered as a shy, awkward schoolgirl. And there's no one she dreads (and secretly wants) to see more than her high school crush, Easton McBride. Just one look from the former star quarterback and it's like she's instantly transformed from daytime drama queen to tongue-tied teenager. She's kissed Hollywood actors and famous cover models, so she can certainly play it cool while turning up the heat, right?

After an injury ended his military career, Easton McBride built a good life in the rugged countryside of his hometown. And the last thing he needs is his quiet solitude shattered by a high-maintenance temptress who isn't anything like the sweet Chloe he misses. While he enjoys the flirtation with this new bold and beautiful woman, he can't help but wonder whether a kiss could have the power to bring back the small-town girl he's grown to love.

Debbie Mason is the USA Today bestselling author of the Christmas, Colorado series. Her books have been praised for their "likable characters, clever dialogue and juicy plots" (RT Book Reviews). She also writes historical paranormals as Debbie Mazzuca. Her MacLeod series has received several nominations for best paranormal as well as a Holt Medallion Award of Merit. When she isn't writing or reading, Debbie enjoys spending time with her very own real-life hero, their four wonderful children, an adorable grandbaby, and a yappy Yorkie named Bella.

Top 5 Reasons to Love Chloe

1)She’s generous and kind and will do just about anything to help the people she loves. But sometimes what she thinks they need, and what they want, aren’t the same.

“” Chance met Easton around the front of the pickup and grabbed his arm. “Okay, calm down. Your furniture was crap anyway. And aside from the color, you have to admit the place looks a million times better than it did. She just should have talked to you before she went ahead and did the renovations, maybe consulted you on her color choice.”

Easton scrubbed his hand over his face. “She texted me earlier and asked my favorite color. I told her pink, but I was joking. Do I look like a guy who likes pink?””

2)She’s an actress and passionate about her career.

3)She loves to have fun and is a great dancer.

“Out of the corner of her eye, Chloe caught a glimpse of Easton. His legs were stretched out, and he was watching her with an amused look on his face. Just for him, she added a couple of booty pops. His beer froze halfway to his mouth, and he slowly straightened in his chair.”

4) She’s affectionate and isn’t afraid to show how she feels. One of the many things Easton O’Connor loves about her.

5)She’s enthusiastic about everything she does; including matchmaking for her identical twin sister.

“”Seriously, Cat O’Connor was sexting you?” Chance laughed. “Doesn’t sound like the woman we know and love.”

“No, it sounds like Chloe,” Easton muttered.

Grayson’s jaw dropped, and he reached in the pocket of his black suit for his phone. He thumbed through his messages and stared at the screen.

“Check for winky faces and exclamation marks. You find them, you’ve been had,” Easton said.”

If you've been following my reviews then you know this isn't the first time I've reviewed a book by Debbie Mason. You also know that I love her books...or did until I met Chloe in Snowbound at Christmas. I hated her right away. Loved the book, just not her. That didn't bond well for the fact that she was the heroine in the next book.

How the hell was I going to read this book and review it!

That has been my worry since I agreed to do just that! Now you might ask why I would agree to read if I didn't like her. Mostly because I love the town and the people and wanted to know more about Easton. (if you do follow me you know I have a thing for the hero's)

I'm going to come clean and tell you that this has been one of the hardest reviews I've ever written. I know what you're thinking...she hated the book!

You would be so wrong. Okay, maybe half right. That damn Chloe. But before you either want to kill me, or you don't think you need to read more because you think you know where I'm going...don't!

I am going to try to do my best to review Kiss Me in Christmas without giving away to much of the story. It should be read and experience it for yourself. Yes my answer is shadowy but I'm telling you it has to be.

Damn, this is tough..

Before I go any farther I want to mention the fact that yes, you don't need to read this series in order but I would get Snowbound at Christmas and read it first. You need to know more about Chloe, Easton and Cat to truly understand everyone.

To me, both Chloe and Cat's story in really one long book. Which is perfect since they are twins.

The whole book is like being on a roller coaster that's totally out of control. Just when you think you have Chloe pegged, she flips on you and you learn more about her. It was so maddening. But it also made for a emotionally charged book.

Reading the story from Chloe's perspective shined a whole new light on everyone! And if you think I'm joking about the everyone part you'd be wrong. By the time I finished this book I hate many characters. I was shocked about it. It really says a lot about the two-sides of a coin business.

Like I said before I don't want to tell or give to much away so I will say this, if you thought about not reading this book because of Chloe, push that thought away. I really did love the whole book and can't wait for what's happens next in the town of Christmas.

Also for those who follow me on a regular basics, you might remember how I couldn't find a book last year for our reading challenge the one about "read a book that makes you cry" well, I found that book!

If you've read Kiss Me in Christmas or any other book by Debbie Mason I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

  2. Good review. I don't know how Debbie did it, but she redemeemed Chloe. She will always be high-maintenance, but I loved it. Easton keeps her grounded.

  3. I call it magic, but it is the magic of a talented author who can make me see beyond the expected. I love that Ms Mason also helped Chloe see outside herself. She had become so closed down from her treatment in high school that she could barely function in her own home town. I appreciated that there wasn't just one ah ha moment was we sometime see in diva-turned-darling books but then Debbie Mason creates her own people and her own stories, she is not a follower of the easy path. Chloe may not be our darling now, but I sure as heck wouldn't mind spending time with her!

    1. I so agree with you. Chloe is a very complex person who still feels the sting of bullying. The book is so well written.
