Review: On the Rocks by Kim Law

On The Rocks
Turtle Island #3
Kim Law
Release day 1/12/16

Sassy tomboy Ginger Atkinson would rather be captaining a deep-sea fishing boat than baking pies, yet she still wishes she had a man to bake for. Sure, the pretty redhead is happy running her late father’s Turtle Island Ferry business, but everyone in the world is finding love except her. Stuck on the wrong side of thirty, she’s trying to accept singlehood by building a dream home—for one.

In high school, Carter Ridley loved to sneak off with his good friend Ginger to watch the sun rise over the ocean. But after graduation, his path took a different route. One that, unlike Ginger’s, did get him the spouse and house of his dreams. At least, until a scandal shattered everything.

Running from his heartbreak, Carter returns to Turtle Island, where he discovers that Ginger is all grown up. His teenage friend has become the woman he’s always wanted. But will Carter’s pain scare him away from a chance at happiness? Or can he be the loving partner Ginger’s been looking for?

I was lucky enjoy to be given a review copy of On the Rocks by Kim Law. I really enjoy her books and couldn't wait to read this one. She writes very enjoyable stories that make you want to read more.

On the Rocks is book 3 of the Turtle Island series but can be read alone. Of course you know how I feel about reading series books out of order...I hate doing it!

In On the Rocks you bring two people back together just when they need someone the most. I really liked the characters in this book. Ginger is a great character. You understand how she feels. It's not easy knowing you don't need a man in your life, but would really like to find love.

As much as I enjoyed Ginger from the beginning I wasn't sure about Carter. Yes, he had his reasons for being pissed but sometimes you wanted to tell him it was time to move on. You will like how Carter stands up and helps his sister. Under the anger he's very sweet.

If only characters would let us run their lives. Ha!

After a while these two realize what they have right in from of them. The ride until then is so much fun. This really is a enjoyable story that you'll be happy to read. It will make you sad, happy and sigh a little too...

I really think you'll enjoy this story and want to read more of this series if you haven't already. If you have read One the Rocks or any other book by Kim Law I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
