Book Club Thursday: Review ~~ Burned By Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!

We are so glad you could join us! Today we are doing a review of Burned By Darkness by Alexandra Ivy!

Burned By Darkness

Dragons of Eternity #1
by Alexandra Ivy

Tayla is desperate for a place to call home. After years on the run, the young imp impulsively buys a teahouse and is determined to build a new life. Unfortunately, she’s barely opened the doors when she’s tracked down by the dragon who purchased her from troll slave-traders. He demands she pay off her debts…in his harem.
Baine has devoted a quarter of a century to tracking down his beautiful concubine. And now that he has her in his grasp, he’s not about to let her go. But it’s soon apparent that he isn’t the only demon hunting her. He must uncover her secrets or risk losing her forever.

My thoughts....

When Ivy ( or her publisher) ended her series Guardians of Eternity I was so sad. I really loved them! Then she came up with Dragons of Eternity and I did a happy dance. Not that I don't like vampires but they are not my all time paranormal favorites. Now dragons...are up at the top! Love them! Plus, and this is a big plus, Levet is back! He has to be one of my all-time favorite characters of all time.
Burned by Darkness is the first in a new series and I will tell you this series starts out with a bang. It has all of the things you love about books by Ivy, it's well-written with great characters and a wonderful story.
I really liked both Blaine and Tayla. Blaine is a sexy dragon (do I need to say more) and Tayla is friends with Levet! I think that says it all.
Okay, I guess that really doesn't say it all. As much as I'd like to say that I writing a great review because I'm hot for a dragon, it's really not a review...its a statement...of fact! Ha!
Besides liking the story itself, I really enjoyed the humor in the book.Ivy has a wonderfully way with words. Besides Blaine and Tayla there are other get characters. I really can't wait for their stories, fingers crossed they get them.
Keep a eye out for the next book in the series, Scorched By Darkness, which comes out in 2016. I hate waiting so long but sometimes we don't have a choice. Can you hear me crying?

I would love to hear your thoughts about Burned By Darkness or any other book by Alexandra Ivy I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!

Comments

  1. I really liked the start of this series and I liked Baine and Tayla. I hope his friend Char is the next story or gets a story soon. Great seeing Levet and his mucking up English catch phrases! You can't go wrong with dragons.
