Review: The Devil Wears Spurs by Soraya Lane

What is it about cowboys that draws us to them? Sometimes I just can't help but pick up a book with one of them in it. I'm going to be reviewing a book by a new author to me. I always love trying something new!

I'm reviewing....

SHE KNOWS WHEN TO HOLD'EM

As a newcomer to the great Lone State, Chloe thinks she's immune to the charms of cowboys—until Ryder King comes along. A gorgeous rodeo star with a gambling problem should spell trouble for Chloe, who's as quick-witted as she is stunning. But there's something gentle in Ryder's otherwise wild nature that gives her pause. And she can only fight her attraction for
so long…?

IS HE READY TO SHOW HIS HAND?

Texas born, bred, and proud, Ryder has always had a way with the ladies—though not so much with poker. He's just bet, and lost, a third of his family's ranch in a game. Can Chloe, the daughter of a card sharp who knows how to play to win, team up with Ryder in Vegas to help him win it back? The closer Ryder comes to getting back the ranch, the greater he risks losing his heart to Chloe. Is he ready to lay it all on the line for her? And can she trust that Ryder is for real—or is one of Texas's most notorious playboys too good to be true?

My thoughts....

Like I said in the introduction I can't help picking up a book when the blurb says it has cowboys in it. I'm not sure why but I get a little thrill reading about them. When I got a chance to read The Devil Wears Spurs I couldn't wait to get into it. Just the cover alone called to me...LOUDLY! I mean, come on! Yes he looks a little young, but I made sure to overlook that. Haha!

From almost the first page I was hooked. I loved when he sent the text message, so cute! (Sorry, you'll have to read the book to know what I mean) Right about now you should be hearing evil laughter...

One of the things I like most in my books is...humor, good characters and great family connections. You get that with The Devil Wore Spurs. I found that I couldn't put the book down I was enjoying it that much. A big plus in my book.

I think you'll like Chloe, she's quick-witted, and very funny. Ryder has ladies man written all over him and he's proud of it. But even with that you can't help but liking him. He's really a good guy.

I think you'll very much enjoy The Devil Wore Spurs and find it to be well-written for the most part, once or twice I felt it dragged a little, but on a bright note it picked up speed very quickly after that. This is the perfect summer read on those hot days!

For all of you who love a good cowboy book give us a shout out! I'd love to hear your thoughts. Look out for The Devil Wears Spurs by Soraya Lane which is  out on June 30th! Happy reading!
