Book Club Thursday: Back in Time!

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!

We are so happy you could join us. Today we are talking about favorite books written in different time periods in the past. Those historical's we just love.

I'm sure you know I could find a ton of historical books that I loved reading but because of space I'll try to limit it. Fingers crossed!

500-1500 Middle Ages...

In the resplendence of William the Conqueror’s London court, the lovely Saxon captive, Nicholaa was forced to choose a husband from the assembled Norman nobles. She chose Royce, a baron warrior whose fierce demeanor could not conceal his chivalrous and tender heart. Resourceful, rebellious and utterly naive, Nicholaa vowed to bend Royce to her will, despite the whirlwind of feelings he aroused in her. Ferocious in battle, seasoned in passion, Royce was surprised by the depth of his emotion whenever he caressed his charming bride.
In a climate of utmost treachery, where Saxons still intrigued against their Norman invaders, Royce and Nicholaa revelled in their precious new love…a fervent bond soon to be disrupted by the call of blood, kin and country!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed The Prize. The humor and love is wonderful in this book. For historical readings this book is a must.
1714-1830 Gregorian...
Douglas Sherbrooke, Earl of Northcliffe, is a man besieged. He must have an heir. Thus, he must first provide himself with the requisite bride. Alexandra Chambers, youngest daughter of the Duke of Beresford, has loved Douglas Sherbrooke since she was fifteen. Unfortunately, it is her sister, the incomparable Melissande, he wishes to wed.

But life never ladles out what one expects, and Douglas finds himself wed to the wrong sister. If having an unwanted wife isn't enough, he is also plagued by The Virgin Bride, a ghost that is reputedly seen in the countess's bedchamber. Does the willowy phantom really appear to Douglas? Does she speak to him?

All that read The Sherbrooke Bride will fall in love with Douglas. Even when he's being a idiot, you love him. Wonderful story!

1811-1820 Regency...

From the cozy confines of a tiny seaside village to the glittering crush of a fashionable London soiree comes an enthralling tale of a thoroughly mismatched couple…poised to discover the rapture of love.
There was no doubt about it. What Miss Harriet Pomeroy needed was a man. Someone powerful and clever who could help her rout the unscrupulous thieves who were using her beloved caves to hide their loot. But when Harriet summoned Gideon Westbrook, Viscount St. Justin, to her aid, she could not know that she was summoning the devil himself…
Dubbed the Beast of Blackthorne Hall for his scarred face and lecherous past, Gideon was strong and fierce and notoriously menacing. Yet Harriet could not find it in her heart to fear him. For in his tawny gaze she sensed a savage pain she longed to soothe…and a searing passion she yearned to answer. Now caught up in the beast’s clutches, Harriet must find a way to win his hear—and evade the deadly trap of a scheming villain who would see them parted for all time.
In Ravished it's Harriet that steals the show. She is a kick-ass type of woman and won't let anyone stand in her way. And if they do she doesn't mind ordering Viscount St. Justin, Gideon around.
All three of these books are great! They are books that I love to read over and over. If you haven't read them yet, you don't know what you are missing.
Don't forget to stop by my fellow Book Club Thursday Bloggers and see which historical books they love.
