Book Club Thursday: Unmentionables

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday! We are so glad you're here!

Today we are talking about those unmentionable things that happen in books. You know, women having their periods, having to make a bowel movement. Not one wants to talk about the dreaded DIARRHEA! Which I understand, there is nothing romantic about that. But sometimes, out of left field a author puts in a UNMENTIONABLE and it's funny as hell. I'm not sure any of you have read this series but the first book takes off with a bang.

Here is one author that adds a UNMENTIONABLE to her book and it really adds to the story.

The Sword
by
Jean Johnson

The first novel of the Sons of Destiny...a romantic tale of magic, superstition, and a love that transcends dimensions.

Eight brothers, born in four sets of twins, two years apart to the day-they fulfill the Curse of Eight Prophecy. To avoid tempting their destiny, the brothers are exiled to Nightfall Island, a land where women are strictly forbidden. But, when the youngest of the mage-brothers rescues a woman from another universe, their world is altered forever.

Kelly Doyle had wanted to get away from the world. Threatened, attacked, and accused of witchcraft, Kelly had enough of her narrow-minded small town. And now she has somehow landed in another, magical dimension-the only woman in a realm inhabited by eight men who are desperately in need of a woman's touch.

So now that you know the book here's what happened. I really hate telling you because it's really a good part in the book but I need to for this post, so if you don't want to know stop reading now. For the rest of you here goes...at one point in the story Kelly and Saber are bitten by snakes and the poison causes them to be dehydrated and have diarrhea! They spend all this time in a be tub, everyone once in a while they need to jump up and run to the toilet.

Now I know what you're thinking...how can that be funny? Well you are going to have to read the book to find out. In fact the whole series is very good.

So what about you? Do you mind UNMENTIONABLE'S in your romance, or are you elbow deep in diapers at home and rather not read about it. We'd love to hear your thoughts!
