Sweet Nothings by Kim Law Tour & Giveaway

Sweet Nothings
Sugar Springs #2
By: Kim Law

Releasing January 1st, 2014

Blurb
Joanie Bigbee, cupcake baker extraordinaire, likes to keep her options open--and she's good at it. She's started and sold some 30 businesses in her postage stamp-sized Tennessee town, and at the moment she can be found in a short skirt and go-go boots, selling cupcakes out of the back of a converted Volkswagen van. What she moves on to next is anybody's guess. She knows better than to be tied down. In any way. She's watched every woman in her family fall head-over-heels, only to find themselves wondering how to pick up the pieces when love is lost.
When Nick Dalton shows up at the groovy cupcakery, all Joanie wants is a taste; a fling with no strings suits her just fine. But for Nick, a bite is not enough; he wants the whole cake: a big house, a family, true love. But love only makes you stupid, right? Joanie has to decide whether to follow where her free-spirit leads? or hold on to the sweetest thing she's ever known.

Romancing the Readers would like to thank Kim for lettings us see into her world a little bit.

Secrets of the romance writer…we’re not just about bonbons and rolling in the money.
In fact, we’re rarely about bonbons and rolling in the money. But with social media these days, there are many secrets of the romance writer that have already been made public. Spending all day in pajamas? Check. Spending way more time on social media than writing? Yeah, got that too. Eating chocolate to get us past deadlines? That’s no secret either.
So what is left? Surely there are some secrets not everyone knows. Right? I set out to find some. After a struggle, I came up with only five. And still, I’m sure some of you already know these, as well. Clearly, we writers share too much. I’ll work on that. ;)
  1. We’re about *this* close to crazy. We have people coming to life in our heads all the time! Often, people from many different stories. All at once. Whom we have conversations with. Who wouldn’t be crazy?

  1. Naps are often a requirement to get through the day. Sometimes it’s called procrastination.

  1. We clean things like refrigerators and kitchen drawers when we don’t want to write a hard scene. Did I mention procrastination?

  1. Our husbands learn when to stay away from us, and when to send in the junk food. It took a little while, but my husband now understands that the room on the floor where my office is not is often the better place to be. Especially when I’m on deadline! It makes it harder to bring him into my freak out when I start getting a little too close to #1. Also, he now knows exactly which type of junk food I need and when, and often brings it home without me asking.

  1. And last…along with the pajamas all day thing, we also don’t always bathe. Yuck. I know. I get it. But if you’re not getting out of your pajamas (or leaving the house), why bother? I mean…other than for simple hygiene.  I’d like to say this is a problem only when approaching a deadline. I’m not sure I can honestly do that.
And with that last one, I figured that was enough sharing. At least I do brush my teeth, no matter what. I guess that’s something!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Author Info

Award-winning author Kim Law wrote her first story, “The Gigantic Talking Raisin,” in elementary school. Although it was never published, it was enough to whet her appetite for a career in writing. First, however, she would try her hand at a few other passions: baton twirling, softball, and music, to name a few. Voted “Bookworm” and “Most Likely to Succeed” in high school, she went on to earn a college degree in mathematics.
Law spent years working as a computer programmer and raising her son, and she now devotes her time and energy to writing romance novels (none of which feature talking raisins).
She is a Romance Writers of America’s RITA® finalist, a past winner of the RWA’s Golden Heart® Award, and currently serves as president for her local RWA chapter. Her books can best be described as a light-hearted mix taking her readers on a sexy, fun, and emotional ride. A native of Kentucky, she now lives with her husband and an assortment of animals in her Middle Tennessee home.

Review

This is book two of the Sugar Springs Series and I very much enjoyed it. It's full of good character who live in a town you'd want to live in. Joanie has some bad issues that she has to work through but even when you want to yell at her, you can't help liking her. She is a hard worker and a very good person. Nick is perfect for her because he shows her how to live and not let the past keep you in a box. I think you'll love this story and will want to ask for book 1, Sugar Springs, for Christmas so you can be ready for Sweet Nothings. Happy reading!
