MoonBound Clan Vampires book 1

Blurb:
A WOMAN OUT FOR BLOOD
Nicole Martin was only eight years old when the vampire slaves rose up in rebellion and killed her family. Now she devotes her life to finding a vaccine against vampirism, hoping to wipe out her memories—along with every bloodsucker on the planet. But there’s one thing she cannot destroy: her searing, undeniable attraction for the one man she should hate and fear the most . . .
A VAMPIRE OUT FOR REVENGE
A member of the renegade vampire MoonBound Clan, Riker is haunted by demons of his own. When he recognizes Nicole and remembers how her family enslaved his loved ones, his heart burns for vengeance. But when he kidnaps Nicole and holds her in a secret lair, his mortal enemy becomes his soul obsession, his greatest temptation, and, perhaps, his only salvation—a hot-blooded lover who could heal him with her touch . . . or bury him forever.

Review

I've always been a big fan of Larissa Ione's. I just love her demon books and couldn't wait to jump into Bound by Night. When I started it I have to admit I just couldn't get into it. There was just something missing, what, I just didn't know. Because it was a club book I kept on going and I'm glad I did because it finally dawned on me what was wrong.I was comparing Bound by Night with Ione's other books, and it was a big mistake. In Ione's demon books she has more humor. I like humor in my books. Once I got over this, I started to get more into the book and finally found my rhythm in the story. There are a lot of characters I liked but wanted a little more back story on the main ones. There is so many layers to both Nicole and Riker. It takes till the end of the story to read get a clear picture of them. You might have a clearer story about the two main characters of the book but I'm a little fuzzy on the back story of the world they all live in. I'm hoping in the second book we will learn more. I am looking forward to Hunter's story.

I would give this book 3 stars for a good story but a slow beginning.

If you've read Bound by Night or not, please join us in talking about it. Remember to stop at the other two blogs that are part of Book Club Thursday Happy reading!

  1. I thought the beginning was slow and this series was darker than the other. I wish there was the dark, snarky humor she usually has. She has some characters I would like to see later on, though, and I liked Nicole.

    1. I agree with the slow start and it being darker. I wasn't happy with the less humor. I like that in books in general. I enjoyed all her characters but didn't feel I got to know them like I usually do in her books.

  2. I felt this book was straddling a few genres, hence the darker tone etc. And we all agree on the slow start. I have a feeling we'll all read the next one too

    1. I will read the next one. I don't really think its straddles as much as it was slightly boring so hard to place.
